Resorts, Hotels, Motels:
There are more than 51 lakeside resorts in Becker County offering a vast array of amenities for all ages. There are also a dozen hotels within the city limits offering both housekeeping and American Plan accommodations. Many have complete convention and banquet facilities.
Industry:
Several manufacturing and processing firms are located in Detroit Lakes and a 210 acre Industrial park has been established, complete with roads, utilities, railroad spurs and other necessary facilities. Some of these are BTD, Snappy’s, SJ Electro, DL Manufacturing and Lakeshirts.
Retail:
Detroit Lakes is the retail center of the region and offers both residents and vacationers exceptionally fine and complete lines of merchandise. The enclosed 92,000 square foot mall was completed in the fall of 1986.
Transportation:
Passenger and freight service are provided to Detroit Lakes by air, rail and bus lines. The city is located on U.S. Highways 10 & 59, State highway 34 and is 50 miles off I-94. |
